OSHA It's The Law - New Posting Design
New Poster Design Unveiled
The Familiar yellow and blue "OSHA It's The Law" poster has now been revised .This is the most visually recognizable of all of the required labor law posters. This OSHA Poster informs workers of their safety rights, and employers of their responsibilities regarding a safe work place. According to OSHA, employers do not need to replace previous versions of the poster. With the many changes to the new poster, many employers may opt to get the new poster.
The Employee Section has been revised, adding rights for employees to receive training on workplace hazards and for employee confidentiality. Also, requirements regarding the reporting of fatalities within 8 hours have been added. Every inpatient hospitalization, amputation or loss of eye must now be reported within 24 hours. The new posting also specifies training for workers in language and vocabulary that the employees can understand. OSHA Citations must be posted at or near the place of the alleged violations. Finally, the poster offers free assistance in identifying and correcting hazards for small and medium sized employers.
